LUCI Systems LLC2026
An enterprise multimedia operations platform where I led a full V2 modernization: rearchitecting the frontend, simplifying and redesigning user flows, rebuilding the visual design system, and continuously shipping new features — all while keeping the product live.

At LUCI Systems I led a full modernization of a production Next.js application managing real-time AV, signage, and device environments across enterprise properties. This wasn't just a technical refactor. The scope covered architecture, visual design, user experience, and continued feature delivery: migrating from Pages Router to App Router, replacing a tightly coupled MobX State Tree with React Query, Zustand, and Zod, and rebuilding the component library in Shadcn and Tailwind. Alongside the technical work I simplified and redesigned key operator workflows including an interactive map view with drag-and-drop and right-click context menus, a responsive list view with advanced filtering, and a policy and permissions system. I rebuilt form architecture with consistent type-safe validation patterns and expanded operational tooling including system logging, feature flag management, and blue-green deployment UI — all while continuing to ship new features throughout the modernization.
A core part of the modernization was writing architectural documentation designed for both new engineers and AI consumption. By codifying the patterns, conventions, and design decisions we made, engineers could onboard faster and AI tools could generate correct, convention-aware boilerplate on the first pass, significantly accelerating feature development. To support release confidence I built a custom headless Lighthouse automation framework integrated into the Playwright test suite, tracking performance scores per page over time and driving a 40-50% improvement across the platform. I also helped maintain and expand an E2E test suite covering over 100 user flows, establishing quality assurance practices across the platform.
